Tsuba
The tsuba are meticulously hand crafted out of iron by Mr. Yamazaki, a tsubashi with over 30 years experience who specializes in Akasaka style tsuba. He carefully patinates each tsuba to attain the look of antique tsuba.
* Akasaka is a district of Edo (modern day Tokyo). This style of sukashi tsuba originated in the early part of the Edo period. The first few generations of tsubashi working in Akasaka style, including the founding tsubashi, Tadamasa almost never signed there work. One of the main charactoristics of Akasaka tsuba are the fine file work and the quaility iron used. Both charactoristics found in the work of Mr. Yamazaki san.
